Jems Robert Koko Bi, geboren 1966 in Sinfra an der Elfenbeinküste, kam nach seinem Studium in Abidjan nach Deutschland. Er arbeitete von 1992-1995 in der Werkstattt von Klaus Simon und war ab 2000 Meisterschüler bei Prof. Klaus Rinke.
Mit der Kettensäge sind Holzskulpturen entstanden, die den tiefen Respekt vor dem Leben und der Natur ausdrücken, aber auch als Symbol stehen für Frieden, Freiheit und soziale Gerechtigkeit.
Seine Werke wurden unter anderem im Centre Pompidou in Paris, auf der documemnta 13 und mehrfach auf der Biennale di Venezia ausgestellt. 2019 gründete er die Waldbiennale Abidjan Green Arts.
