Our monumental silver gilt Schlüsselfelder ship or nef, attributed to Hanau, Germany, late 19th to early 20th century, measures an impressive 45 1/4 inches (115 cm) tall and is exquisitely modeled in the 17th century style as a galleon at sail with three masts raised on a support modeled as Triton, the Greek god of the sea, above hippocampi and dolphins on a circular base. With extraordinary details including figures manning the crow's nest and shrouds, raised flags, cannons, oars, anchor and other details. Original hallmarks present but worn and not decipherable. Weight: 13,960 g; 492.42 oz. Measures: 115cm high; 85cm wide; 33cm deep.
