Pair of 19th Century Male and Female Italian Carved Figures

About the Item

Pair of 19th century male and female Italian carved figures This charming pair of figures stand almost 6ft high, they each have a socket in their hand which once would have held a candle sconce. They are extravagantly dressed, him with his neat beard and the lady with curly hair, they have rich and luxuriously draped clothes, their faces have the most wonderful expressions The Statues are carved in wood which has been prepared with gesso before being painted, the colours are bright with generous amounts of Silver The Statues are in remarkably good condition, there is a very little chipping of their paint, they are set on plinths from which they can be dismantled for transport The Statues are 68” tall and approximately 26” across JK255.
