    A vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian figure made of hand blown Murano glass, designed by Archimede Seguso and produced by Seguso Vetri D’Arte, in good condition. The clear sculpture is depicting a man in the earlys 20s with a cylinder hat. Wear consistent with age and use, circa 1930 - 1940, Murano, Italy. Base: 3.5" diameter View all Seguso Vetri D’Arte originals in our collection. Archimede Seguso was an Italian glass manufacturer and a designer born in 1909, in Murano, Italy and passed away in 1999. At the age of 11, Seguso started training and working as a glassmaker at his father's glass company. Later on, circa in 1930, he took over the family business, named Seguso Vetri d'Arte. During this time he studied the 16th century styles, such as filigrana glass, colorless blown glass, genetic manipulation of glass canes to give the form of linear patterns and plume glass, delicate, fine feather-plume glass shapes. In 1946, he founded his own glass manufacturer company in Murano, Vetreria Artistica Archimede Seguso. Seguso was one of the 20th century's master Venetian glassmakers.
