A spelter statue of Demeter and Persephone embracing it other with their tunics flowing in the wind. Signature “H Moreau” signed and foundry seal title statue “Protection” circa 1880. Hippolyte François Moreau (1832-1927) Title Protection / Protection A loving depiction of the reunion between the searching mother her missing daughter, just released from the Underworld. The blackness falls away as mother and daughter embrace, bringing new life back to the world. But having eaten pomegranate seeds, Persephone is now linked to Hades and must return to the underworld for half of each year to rule by his side as queen.
