Ture Lidström 1917-1995 "I have a dream a utopia that creatures from a distant planet shall invade the earth and force man to reflection to close your eyes to the madness on earth leads to the inevitable disaster a change of human mind is the only and final way to rescue ” Motto for the exhibition at Galleri De Unga 1969 Ture Lidström was born at Kungsholmen in Stockholm as number three in a sibling at eight. He showed artistic work at an early stage and attended the education for drawing teachers at the Technical School, (the predecessor of Konstfackskolan) in Stockholm. In 1949, Lidström joined the Academy of Fine Arts / Art Academy in Stockholm, where he completely invested in the School of Graphic Art. Lidström's graphic sheet from these years was something new in Swedish graphics. He introduced it non-figuratively into abstract compositions and constructive urban landscapes. In 1952, a consortium was formed with H.M. King Gustav VI Adolf in the lead, which gave Lidström the opportunity to stay in England and France for just over a year. During the stay abroad, Lidström devoted a lot to drawing. Color also took on more space, pastel crayons and watercolor were his main media. He also started working with collage and a series of scrap cartons also came in during this time. Lidström developed his own method for images and sculptures in collage technology where he worked with himself dyed and shredded rice paper. The paper fibers in conjunction with uncoloured cellulose adhesive form a homogeneous unit in wet-on-wet technology. The sculptures are often supplemented by accents or patterns in watercolor or gouache before the final painting. Ture Lidström is represented on: National Museum, Moderna Museet, H.M. King Gustav VI Adolf's collections, The State Art Council, The National Gallery in Oslo, The Museum of Bergen, Falu Museum, Kalmar Museum.
