About the Item
An increasingly scarce glass 'boule d'escalier'.
France, late 19th century to c1920s.
With original screw fixture so these can be re-used as their original use as newel posts for staircases or balconies.
Alternatively they are often collected for paperweights or as decorative pieces.
Good condition.
The brass base itself is 6 cm diameter.
Location: London Gallery.
