Beautiful Mexican modernist brass ornamental wall hanging featuring Chinese Kanji script by Pepe Mendoza inlaid with malachite and a brass ring on the back for hanging, Mexico, circa 1960s.

"Pepe Mendoza, a post-war and contemporary sculptor ran a foundry in Mexico that produced a limited number of furniture pieces and decorative objects in the 1950s and 60s. His work is characterized by a cloisonné type technique, utilizing turquoise and other colorful stones to create elaborate metalwork in exuberant forms."
