Lovely Fluorite Crystal From Afghanistan Weight: 33.40 Carat Dim: 2.6 x 1.6 x 1.1 Cm Origin : Afghanistan Fluorite is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, CaF₂. It belongs to the halide minerals. It crystallizes in isometric cubic habit, although octahedral and more complex isometric forms are not uncommon. The Mohs scale of mineral hardness, based on scratch hardness comparison, defines value 4 as fluorite. Fluorite (also called fluorspar) is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, CaF2. It belongs to the halide minerals. It crystallizes in isometric cubic habit, although octahedral and more complex isometric forms are not uncommon. Fluorite is a kaleidoscopic gemstone known for its wide array of colors and stunning fluorescence, along with its myriad of uses in manufacturing. Dubbed “the most colorful mineral in the world,” fluorite gemstones define living in color.
