Aquamarine is a pale-blue to light-green variety of beryl. The color of aquamarine can be changed by heat. Aquamarine has a chemical composition of Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈, also containing Fe²⁺. It has a hardness of 7.5–8 on the Moh scale.
Aquamarine helps us to gain insight, truth, and wisdom. It can be used to help calm the mind, nerves, and anxieties. Physically, it's said to help relieve the symptoms of fluid retention. Because it's associated with water and water is cleansing, aquamarine can also help aid in the flushing of toxins from the body.
Aquamarine grows in large, six-sided crystals that can be up to a foot long. This makes it a great gemstone to be cut and polished in larger carats for bold statement jewelry pieces.
