Large Milky Quartz Crystal Cluster with Amethyst Crystals

About the Item

Large milky quartz crystal cluster from Diamond Hill Mine, South Carolina with an overgrowth of amethyst crystals. The amethyst crystals grew roughly 100 million years ago after the milky quartz crystals first formed around 450 million years ago. The milky quartz crystal matrix beautifully compliments the contrasting colors of the amethyst crystals and creates a rare mineral formation. This is a unique specimen found in 2015 and is unlike anything else that has ever been found in the famous amethyst mine of South Carolina. This rare, museum-worthy specimen creates a natural-forming sculpture of organic significance.
