About

Ouroboros 11 Ancient alchemists described the symbol ouroboros as “the all is one,” as it depicts a serpent, or in some traditions, a dragon, eating its own tale. In Studio Greytak’s Ouroboros 11, a ring of oil-rubbed bronze surrounds a rare union of quartz, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite, all atop a stunning zebrawood and copper base. Quartz has many varieties, from the water-clear rock crystal to purple amethyst and banded agate. Most Stone Age tools were made from this hard crystal, and in the 4th millennium BC, Mesopotamians engraved quartz cylinders with some of the earliest written words, using them as stamps on clay. Formed millions of years ago under extreme geologic pressure, quartz crystals often grow together in clusters. But their most amazing feature is their ability to convert mechanical energy into electricity and vice versa. This amazing physical energy translates just as powerfully to the metaphysical world. Since antiquity, traditional healers have called quartz the “master healer” because it amplifies the power of other elements nearby and because it can be programmed by focusing intention upon it. This allows one to achieve virtually any goal. Clear quartz is a stone of light providing a clear path for higher vibrations from spiritual realms to the physical world. In this piece quartz amplifies the powers of the wily sphalerite known for mimicking other minerals. Its rare, fine crystals are prized by collectors for their exceptional fire, more noticeable even than a diamond’s. And although the metal was dismissed in the Iron Age, sphalerite is the most important zinc ore in the modern world and sometimes includes other rare and useful metals. Metaphysically speaking, sphalerite provides its owner with incredible powers of discernment. Use it to separate dreams from reality and amp up intuition. It was used in ancient tribal rituals to help awaken one’s true gifts. Keep a piece of sphalerite nearby to stay grounded in the real world without losing sight of your dreams. Chalcopyrite is a stone of abundance, also called the stone of the mystic. Made when copper mixes with iron, it shines like pyrite but is a different mineral altogether. Chalcopyrite is used by healers to clear energy blockages. Acupuncturists sometimes keep it nearby to integrate energy flow more easily. Its strong vibration helps with mystical enlightenment but also brings happiness and helps one come to better self-understanding. Its gold color indicates that it brings prosperity, attracts money, and helps one discover their paths to success. Place this highly-charged, mystical piece in a bedroom or meditation space to turn up the vibrations and increase your power to manifest what your heart desires. Materials Oil rubbed bronze Zebrawood Mineral specimen of quartz, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite.
