Unusual Rotating Geode Slice with Amethyst Peaks and Calcite on Metal Stand

About the Item

A stunning geode slice on a custom metal rotating stand. From the rough basalt on the outside, to the rich purple amethyst crystals inside and calcite formation, this piece presents an exquisite combination of minerals on a sculptural journey. The outer layer is the original basalt, now smoothed, and the edges are all polished reveling agate and white quartz. All of this frames the very deep purple amethyst formation, with high peaks and glimmering crystals. The interior face of the slice further reveals a beautiful calcite formation resembling a flower. The natural wonders encompassed here can be fully appreciated by the rotating nature of its stand, showing all the layers and minerals involved in a geode. This stunning piece its very decorative and it’s on a custom rotating metal stand. This piece was legally and ethically sourced directly in the prestigious mines of Uruguay, South America. Uruguayan amethyst is internationally recognized as being the finest and most aesthetic amethyst in the world, due to its intense deep purple coloration, the large size of its peaked crystals, and its durability. These crystals were formed over 120-140 million years during the Cretaceous period, and as all of our pieces are formed naturally, they are completely unique and unrepeatable natural wonders of art.
