Pair of Antique Wood Carving Burmese Ox Cart Ornaments

About

This pair of large wood carvings was used to decorate the ox carts that were widely used in Burma. They were carved and constructed in the shape of the bird Hong. Hong is a mythical bird of infinite grace. As an auspicious creature, it symbolizes miracles and was widely used as a motif in architectural and other designs in Southeast Asia. They are very impressive in person and will make great statement pieces for any distinguished interior.
