Large Murano Glass Bottle or Vase by La Murrina, Italy
About the Item
Exquisite hand-blown Murano art glass vase in a large bottle format. Suitable as a decorative object as well as a functional and "next level" water jug. Made by La Murrina in Italy in the 1970s.
The slightly asymmetrically shaped bottle takes the general form of a wine bottle, although significantly wider and taller. The shaft of the bottle has been compressed to form 6 flat faces, instead of a simple curve. The proportions are absolutely stunning.
The glass is transparent, with a green hue. There are two artistic bands of colored glass wrapping around the bottle. The upper in orange and the lower in white. This adds an exceptional Post Modern flair to the object and really makes it pop.
The condition is overall very good with no chips or noticeable scratches.
