A large pair of cast brass garnitures or chenets in the Orientalist or Anglo-Indian taste featuring full bodied caparisoned elephants carrying an elaborate howdah (saddle) with a scholar seated at each corner beneath a central domed cover and topped with a flame finial, all raised on a rococo style base.
