Pair of Early 19th Century French Incense Burners Louis XVI Style

Extremely elegant design and high quality for this pair of Louis XVI style white marble and or moulu mounted "Brule-parfums" made at French Restauration time. They were used to scent a room. The urn has a lower part in marble outside but gilded metal inside to contain the embers (or burning oil) and the aromatic components. The upper part is an openwork lid in chiseled and gilded bronze topped by a pine cone which will dissipate the perfumed vapors all around. Each urn is surrounded by a beautiful guirland and adorned under by ormolu foliage and a pine cone. Resting on three feet surmounted by satyres heads, terminated by ram's feet and elevated by a marble base having a chased mascaron in its center and three adjustable moulded feet.
