20th Century Spanish Ceramic Jug

About the Item

Playful, idiosyncratic and unique, this vintage pottery jug was produced in the atelier of Pabo Sanguino, an artist known equally for his Modernist paintings and his ceramic work. Made in the 20th century, the jug showcases two of Sanguino’s most recognizable motifs — a brightly colored cockerel and his distinctive textural bubble glaze. Combining earthy practicality with artistic flair, this delightful find bears the artist’s signature on the base, along with the name of the town in which the atelier is located: Toledo, a picturesque city in central Spain.
