This is a heavy antique chemist's mortar. An English, cast iron decorative planter pot, dating to the mid Georgian period, circa 1750. Fascinatingly weathered Georgian mortar Displaying a desirable aged patina throughout Substantial cast iron presents dark graphite hues Perfect as a planter, with an internal diameter of 10cm (4'') Pleasingly heavy in the hand with a weight of 7.47kg (16.46 lb) This is a superb, heavy antique mortar, with a striking early industrial finish.
