'Nineteen Mouths' Tulip Bowl in 24 K Gold Ceramic
About the Item
Netherlands, 18th century. The irrational euphoria created around the tulip is manifested in the spread of majestic vases containing these inflorescences. Tall and elegant ceramic jars in fact celebrate their social prestige. Often also called a carnation bowl, it would become an icon of Italian ceramics over time. The ceramic planter "Nineteen Mouths" is an object that culturally educated me. Made of white earthenware strictly hand-turned. Glazed white on the inside, the object is finished on the outside with a soft bristle brush with fine dyes, respectively gold and copper specific to ceramics before the third and final firing. The reflection of the vase certifies its perfect achievement and amplifies the luster of the flowers.
