Pair of French 19th Century Neoclassical Style Marble and Ormolu Urns

About the Item

An exceptional pair of French 19th century neo-classical st. Brèche Verte d'Egypte marble and ormolu lidded urns. Each urn is raised by richly chased ormolu paw feet with acanthus leaf detail. Above the square mottled base and circular socle pedestal is a fine ormolu acanthus leaf mount. The body displays a wonderfully sculpted reeded pattern and most elegant shape with a mottled rim and twisted design ormolu band. The removable lid also displays a reeded pattern and top finial. Also finished on the inside. All original gilt throughout.
