Pair of French 19th Century Renaissance Style Patinated Bronze Lidded Urns

About the Item

A charming and high quality pair of French 19th century Renaissance st. patinated bronze lidded urns, attributed to Auguste-Maximilien Delafontaine. Each urn is raised by a square base with concave corners and a fine socle pedestal. At the bodies are most decorative fluted patterns and Les Oves designs with charming richly chased patinated bronze cherubs playing on hammered backgrounds. At each side are detailed cornucopias with rich floral arrangements continuing down the urns. At the top are finely detailed patinated bronze winged cherubs seated on the removable lids. The urns are also finished on the inside. All original warm patina throughout.
