1930s Ozark Roadside Tourist Swirl Missionware Pottery Vase Arkansas Missouri
About the Item
Ozark Pottery Company vase in blue and light blue swirled glaze. When demand for utilitarian ware waned, many potteries introduced their art line. Artificially coloring the clay and turning it on the potter's wheel made pieces with a marbleized or swirled appearance. This vase retains no label or markings. Other known makers in the Ozarks were Niloak, Camark and Ouachita pottery.
