Antique Venetian Murano Opal Shell Gold Flecks Fish Stem Italian Art Glass Vase
About the Item
Beautiful, antique, early Venetian / Murano hand blown clear with opalescent and gold flecks Italian art glass with ornate seashell decoration, fish stem vase / table object. Created in the manner of the Salviati and Fratelli Toso companies. The color is a mainly clear with bluish opaline, often referred to as "Girasol". The photos in the white background are in sunlight, and the opal glass is catching the yellow light.. That is why it is looking more yellow on the opal areas. The photos in the black background better show the coloration. The entire piece is fully covered in gold leaf. Would make a great piece on any curio cabinet, vanity or table. Late Victorian, Art Nouveau era. Collectors item! Measures 7" tall x 3" wide at the base.
