Art Deco Vase in Blue-Green and Gold, by MNF in Sevres, 1930s

About the Item

This classic French Art Deco vase demonstrates a major characteristic of the period -- a series of setbacks from its curving body to the neck above -- all brilliantly glazed in a Mediterranean blue-green with rich veining in gold. The piece was made by the short-lived Manufacture Nouvelle de Faiences (MNF) in Sevres, which was established by Paul Sailly in 1929. In 1936, the name was changed to Sevres Vinsare France, and production was stopped in the early 1940s. The vase is well marked on the bottom.
