About the Item

Chuck Vannatta studio glass white trio of white/pink, orange/red and green/green bottle shaped vases. All three vases artist signed and dated with etching to bottom: "Vannatta 2005." All obtained together directly from artist in 2005. Detailed dimensions: White with pink collar: 16.5"ht 3.5"diam Orange with red collar: 15.5"ht 3.5"diam; Sea-foam green with green collar: 16"ht 3.25"diam Artist Details: Born, Hawaii; active in San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest. Education: University of Hawaii at Mano; BFA at CCAC, Oakland, 1990; Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State: active since 1986; selected as Pilchuck school's master glassblower on fourteen occasions; twice chosen as designer of Pilchuk auction's centerpiece; worked alongside Murano masters and mainland luminaries like Dale Chihuly. Margaret Berman, proprietor of Art Glass and Interiors and former Marshall Way gallery owner, hosted a 2002 group show including Chuck Vannatta's work at her home in Scottsdale Arizona. In the invitation to that event, she aptly describes Chuck Vannatta's work: "Vannatta's style is unique and diverse from elaborate Venetian style goblets in Aloha shirt colors, to geomorphic sculptures and vessels. We are showcasing his current work which encompasses vessels that are 3 and 4 feet tall. The common thread throughout Vannatta's work is his mastery of the material and the whimsey he brings to the glass. Vannatta's work is shown nationwide and is in many privates and public collections."
