Unique wooden color-wood vase designed by Angelo Mangiarotti, ca. 1981, with creator mark on bottom: „Alpimass“, „A. Mangiarotti“ Exceptionally rare vase from a series that Angelo Mangiarotti designed for Alpi, Italy. Alpi was the first company who industrialized the process of composite wood making, a complex technique of coloring, staining, pressing and gluing different layers of wood together multiple times. During the 1980ies Alpi collaborated with several architects and designers. Amongst others it was Angelo Mangiarotti who designed a series of unique composite wood objects, of wooden sculptures and bowls and vases. The vase is in good vintage condition appropriate to age and use. Little bite on bottom outline. * Please note: This object should not be used or filled with water !
