Cubist Art Deco vase designed by Anatole Riecke, an abstract architectural motif made with natural pigments. Signed and dated. One-off vase.
Anatole Riecke was a Russian artist active in Paris from the 1930s. In 1937 he was in charge of the glass decoration for the iconic Parisian restaurant La Coupole.
The restaurant was in the 1930s one of the most trendy places to be. Many artists used to attend the restaurant: Jean Cocteau, Foujita, Kisling, Giacometti, Josephine Baker, Man Ray, and Georges Braque ou Brassaï to name a few.
In good condition.
