Dangerous Liaisons 'Her' Orange Dots Ceramic Vase by Hua Wang
About the Item
The hm s independent brand was founded by artist Wang Hua in 2020. It is the artist's "extended creation" in fields other than sculpture and installation art. It can be said that it is an exploration of deliberately mixing the theories of art and design and ignoring their boundaries.
Wang Hua's artistic experiments can be seen as a testing ground for different materials, as well as an exploration of ideas. Various issues related to human nature, sociality, and politics are discussed in it, criticizing anything brought by region and "ism". "Pride and Prejudice", focusing on advancing consumerism and gender identity issues that are inseparable from traditional cultural backgrounds. Using every technique, she interweaves in an autobiographical framework the family stories and social events she experiences, and the narrative visual texts are echoed and reproduced.
In Jingdezhen, ceramic makers would categorize porcelain according to their color, size, and shape, and stack them one by one. This space-saving arrangement creates new geometric shapes. The inspiration for the series "Liasions" also comes from here.
