English Majolica Jardinière

About the Item

A large English Majolica glazed ceramic jardinière, or planter, oblong shape depicting a sleeping maiden in a field of wheat. Vividly colored glaze in green, brown, yellow ocher, and cobalt with dark brown interior. Perfect for the display of orchids or ferns. Old restoration to maiden's hat, hairlines in the bottom glaze.
