Japanese Contemporary Green Black Porcelain Vase by Master Artist
About the Item
Exquisite Japanese contemporary decorative porcelain vase, beautifully hand-painted in green, a signed masterpiece by a master porcelain artist of the historic Kutani region of Japan. This artist is a second-generation porcelain artist who spent most of his life working within the confines of the Ko-Kutanti (old Kutani) tradition of colors and designs. Upon turning 60, he forswore the world of tradition and had since dedicated himself to freely expressing his vision of life and nature, a pursuit that has given birth to stunningly expressive designs and colors. The artist’s profile is available upon request.
This vase is one of his Ko-Kutani work, with three scalloped flower and tree panels on a deep green background with shell motif. The striking pattern at the base creates a beautiful balance of color, shape and design. This piece is a testimony to the artist's mastery in traditional Ko-Kutani style.
This stunning porcelain vase comes in a custom-made wooden case signed by the artist.
