Handmade Ceramic Nerikomi 'Zebra' Striped Black and White Vase by Fizzy Ceramics
About the Item
Each vase is made with slabs of alternating clay and formed into a cylinder and sculpted into the finished shape. Before each firing stage, the clay smudges are sanded and polished away to create sharpness and definition. These pieces are made with a glaze that reacts with each clay differently, giving a gritty texture to the black clay and a glossy texture to the white clay.
Handmade nerikomi vase with two types of clay. Made and fired in Los Angeles by Fizzy Ceramics. Glazed clear on the outside and inside. Fired to cone 5 in oxidation, each piece is watertight and is designed to be used as a vase for fresh flowers.
