Jack Schmidt Postmodern Studio Handblown Glass Yellow and Blue Vase, 1986

About the Item

A postmodern handblown glass vase by Jack Schmidt. Etched signature on bottom and dated 1986. The vase has a serene golden yellow with aqua blue color palate and the artist added a stylized bold black line providing a contrast. From a private collection. Dimensions: 10.25” h x 4.5” dia. In very good vintage condition. Jack Schmidt has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the world, and his work is included in permanent collections of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY, the Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, OH, the National Museum of American Art in Washington, DC, the Bellrive Museum, Zurich, Switzerland and the Chubu Institute, Nagoya, Japan to name a few. In addition to all these accomplishments, Schmidt is affiliated with the American Crafts Council, the Glass Arts Society the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and recipient of grants from both the National Endowment for the Arts and the Ohio Arts Council. He currently works as an independent glass artist in the studio he started in Toledo in 1981.
