Mesmerizing Japanese contemporary hand-glazed decorative porcelain vase in the artist’s signature blue and white in the auspicious tenmoko pattern, a signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed award-winning master porcelain artist from the historic Imari-Arita region of Japan . He is the recipient of countless awards for his extraordinary work and his contributions to this centuries old art.One of his most notable signature gradation patterns is referred to as the “galaxy,” where the alchemy of the kiln produces the effect of millions of stars glowing faintly in distant skies. This artist is a master of the yohen technique, roughly translated as “alchemy of the kiln,” in which minute variations in closely-guarded glaze recipes and kiln temperatures produce a unique palette of hues and patterns manifested in subtle but awe-inspiring gradations of color. The beautiful gradations that the artist creates are the result of layers of glazes that fuse together in the kiln.
