This sophisticated black vase was produced by Hull Pottery- the renowned American producer based in Crooksville, Ohio, circa 1950. The simple hourglass form reads as quintessentially Mid-Century Modernist. The austere palate, consisting of radiant black ceramic that evokes ebony with a hand painted matte gold stripe, provides an understated contrast to any flower arrangement, no matter how colorful. It is also a classic example of Mid-Century Modernist design that would make a handsome decorative object atop an occasional table or étagere. It is signed on the bottom "Hull USA." Excellent condition. American, circa 1950 Dimensions: 15" height X 5.5 diameter.
