Pair French Glass Vases
About the Item
Pair of French tall glass vases, each rim is gilded, one vase depicts a young boy and his dogs with a monkey on his back walking along an open trail, he has a stick in one hand and the other is in his pocket; the monkey appears to be sitting on a drum above the boy's satchel ; in the distance is a shadowy female figure and roof tops. This entire scene is surrounded by flowers and foliate. The other vase depicts a young girl standing on a stool leaning on a marble top dressing table, looking into a mirror and hoding a small red ball. This scene is similarly surrounded by flowers and foliate. Both have a sheild at the bottom , the boy's vase has a lyre, the girl's appears to be a small coat of arms. .There are flowers and foliate on the back of each vase. The vases are white translucent glass with a satin finish on the exterior and gloss inside the rim.
