Pair of Cascabel Vase by Onora

About the Item

Pair of cascabel vase by Onora. Dimensions: D 30 x H 28 cm. Materials: clay. This collection reinterprets one of the oldest structural techniques in pottery, coiling, the vessels made with this technique are made from coils of clay positioned in consecutive rings, placed on top of one another. This ceramic technique lefts linear marks, these lines are the inspiration for our cascabel collection. It takes its name from the rattle (cascabel in Spanish) of the rattlesnake. This pieces are molded and burnished in Jalisco, fired in an atmospheric reduction firing technique. We are a Mexican brand dedicated to the creation of high end, hand crafted textiles and home accessories in collaboration with Mexican artisans. Onora seeks to strike a balance between tradition and contemporary trends. Our collections are all founded in time honored designs and long established techniques that are reinterpreted using a contemporary aesthetic while retaining the original spirit and identity of traditional hand craft. The result is a collection of sophisticated products that reflect a cosmopolitan lifestyle and invoke cultural legacy. Onora honors the notion of time associated with Mexico’s diverse artisanal techniques, we value the beauty of hand crafted goods and we pay tribute to the story behind each object.
