A Pair of English Wood and Paper Mache Oversized Vases

About the Item

A pair of English wood and paper mache oversized vases. The overscaled form with cartouches having hand painted chinoiserie decorations in gold with a black ground, with individual craquelure? Has square footed bases and scalloped tops. Provenance: formerly the property of Dodie Rosencrans from interior designed by Tony Duquette; acquired by Duquette at the MGM Studio Auction in 1960s, according to Tony Duquette president Hunton Wiltson. Circa early 19th Century.
