Pair of Renaissance Style Gilded & Enameled Glass Vases, Europe, 19th Century

About the Item

Petite pair of Renaissance style gilded and enameled glass vases - hand painted with scrolling acanthus leaves and flowers with banded borders to the top edges (resembling stained glass) - all set against a painted 'crackle' or wire work background - fine and rare examples - smooth polished bases - each signed with a hand painted 'scissors or shears' symbol (unknown/unidentified maker) and numbered in gold on each base (one rubbed) - Europe - late 19th century. Excellent antique condition - minor rubbing and gilding loss - scratches to the base - minor flea bites - no cracks - no loss - no damage - no restoration - signs of age and use. Size/dimensions of each - small - 3 1/2" (9 cm) wide x 1 1/2" (4 cm) deep x 4 7/8" (12.5 cm) high.
