Pure White Cenedese cavated style Vase in Blown Murano Glass Venice Italy 1990s.
Entirely handcrafted in the 1990s, this superb vase is an original work of art by Cenedese, one of the most famous Venetian glassblower in Murano, the island devoted to the production of blown glass since generations. The authenticity of the vase is documented by the hand-engraved signature and the "Murano Cenedese Vetri" sticker on its base.
What make this vase unique are both the plain but refined design and the special processing of the glass. Consisting of a calla-lily shaped bowl and a glass ring connecting it to the base, this vase is crafted according to the “scavo” technique, which means the vase’s external surface is sprinkled with white glass powder, producing a matte effect. This is also the reason why the outside of the vase is rough to the touch while the inside, by contrast, is smooth. A work of art of the finest Venetian craftsmanship, this vase needs no other decoration than to be placed in a space that can enhance its essential and refined beauty.
The vase, as documented in the attached pictures, is in excellent conditions.
