Heading : Czech Mstisov or Moser Duha range bell vase Date : Designed 1964 by Vladimir Mika - this example from the late 60s Origin : Czechoslovakia Bowl Features : Striped ink blue and emerald glass cased in clear Type : Lead Size : 15.6cm height, 13.8cm diameter Condition :Excellent, no chips or cracsk Restoration : None Weight : 1601 grams Mark Hill Comments : The Duha range is typified by a 'rainbow' of horizontal bands in vibrant green, orange and blue, and heavily cased forms. The range was produced from 19609-64 at Mstisov and then from 1964 to around 1971 at Moser. It was featured in Czechoslovak Glass...

This captivating pair of Moser vases exemplifies the beauty of Bohemian art glass. Standing over a foot in height and showcasing a rare deep amethyst hue, the glasswork features an intricately gilded band and remains exceptional in both quality and artistry. Encouraged by the Austro-Hungarian governments, Ludvik Moser quickly excelled as a glass artist while completing an apprenticeship under accomplished artist O.J. Mattoni. Through working with the Health Spa at Carlsbad, producing and decorating glassware to hold healing waters found at the spa, Moser quickly acquired a following and demand for his work. By 1857, Moser was able to open his shop full of bright, glistening glass creations. Moser quickly acquired nobility as his clientele and began displaying his work at exhibitions around the world. Some of his well-known patrons include Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, Pope Pius XI and King Farouk of Egypt...
