Richard Chapman English Large Hand Turned Spalted Sycamore Vase

About the Item

A fine and large English hand crafted turned spalted sycamore wood vase by Richard Chapman (b.1951) and dating from the 20th century. The large rounded vase stands on a narrow rounded foot with a slightly recess carved base. The vase has a narrow neck and wide trumpet shaped top with a carved rounded rim. the vase beautifully made and shows off the character of the spalted sycamore with the bold and contrasting characteristics in the wood captured and well defined by the turner. The vase is signed to the base and also marked SPALTED SYCAMORE. In good original condition.
