Royal Worcester vase painted by Kitty Blake

About the Item

This Royal Worcester pear shaped vase with decorative gold mounts, was hand painted by Kitty Blake, with her signature motif of blackberries and autumnal leaves.  Kitty Blake worked at the Royal Worcester factory for 48 years from 1905 to 1953, where she was one of the principal artists. Prior to her time at Royal Worcester, she had started her career at James Hadley's Worcester factory. The tapering fluted neck features a matte green/gold decoration that sits nicely between the gilded rim and the lower gilded collar.The shape of the vase is F-103 and this was first issued by the Hadley Worcester factory, and then continued at Royal Worcester after the takeover in 1905. It stands 202 mm (8.25 inches) high and has a diameter of 102 mm (4 inches). It is in very good condition and would date from 1942-8.
