Small Candlestick in Cobalt

About the Item

Small Candlestick in Cobalt Capillary Waves are one of nature’s most inspirational formations due to their intricate and complex nature. The candlestick takes after these patterns much like the ripple effect that can be seen when the quiet surface of a pond is disturbed. Ornamenting the top of the candlestick is an elongated bulbous geometry reminiscent of a water lily blooming and protruding from the surface during the spring season. Price is per candlestick. Cobalt is mysterious and elusive. After gazing into the expanse of blueness the true depth of its texture and quality is discovered. The matte finish and endless undulations create a stunning vase that comes alive with sophisticated detail. Color and pattern may vary slightly from the image shown. Jean and Dylan of Ladies & Gentlemen Studio were captivated by the array of textures and colours on display at João Lourenço's ceramic workshop and immediately began to consider new ways in which they could celebrate the richness of João's craft. Fascinated by the gradation of colours that reveal themselves when Metallic salts are added to a clay firing, they asked João if this effect could be applied to Pasta Grés Chamotada - a highly textured claybody. The result of this experiment is Salt Vase...
