‘Star‘ Collection Set of Three Vessels or Vases by David Adjaye

About the Item

A stunning piece of art, star is a set of three vessels in copper and Swarovski Elements black crystals designed by British architect David Adjaye. One of the world’s leading architects of his generation, Adjaye was chosen to design the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American history and culture that opened in Washington in 2015. Star is entirely handmade in copper by Turkish artisans, the interior being completely covered with Swarovski Elements black crystals. True micro-architectures, these three vessels offer various plays on light and geometry representative of Adjaye’s vision and sensibility. Dimensions of the three pieces are as follows: Center piece: H 11,7 x L 35 x W 37,7 cm - H 4 3/5 x L 13 4/5 x W 14 4/5 inches Middle vase: H 23,5 x L 24 x W 24 cm - H 9 x L 9 2/5 x W 9 2/5 inches Large vase: H 42 x L 20 x W 22,8 cm - H 16 2/5 x L 7 4/5 x W 8 9/10 inches David Adjaye graduated with a M.A Arch. from the Royal College of Art in 1993 where he won the RIBA bronze medal. In 2007 he received an honorary doctorate of the arts from the University of East London. He was professor in architecture at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and is a foreign honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Star is produced in a limited edition of 25 by Gaia & Gino. Each piece may be sold individually. Please contact Galerie BSL for pricing. Pricing does not include sales tax (French VAT) if applicable.
