Tall Hand Blown Glass Vase in Rose and Tourmaline by Vetro Vero

$1,600

About

Tall and voluminous, this hand blown glass statement vase features rosy "aubergine" and soft "tourmaline" translucent hues. A gold-flecked seam fuses the colors at the shoulder. The Goccia (Italian: "drop") Collection is named for the graceful teardrop forms that define this series of modernist vessels. Ideal for interior decor and designed to capture the process of creation, each of two colors are shaped as preliminary glass bubbles, then carefully opened and fused at the gold-flecked seam early in the glassblowing process. Shaping follows, as the Vetro Vero designers and glassblowers Michael Schunke and Josie Gluck heat and sculpt each individual vessel. Inflated and stretched into graceful "drop" forms, each Goccia vessel captures the action of its creation. Each piece is made-to-order and hand blown without the use of molds. Dimensions are approximate, and subtle variations in color and size are to be expected: 7" x 20".
