Thai Ceramic Vase with White Rustic Glaze

About the Item

A ceramic vase from Thailand in geometric shape, with white rustic glaze. Contemporary. While the golden age of Thai ceramics ended around the 15-16th Centuries, local craftsmen learned the art through generations, later producing smaller numbers of pieces with different types of clay and glazing techniques. Today, Thailand's artisans carry the tradition now aided by modern kilns and more diverse glazing techniques, while keeping the handcrafting tradition alive and incorporating contemporary design. This contemporary vase is beautifully finished in a rustic, rough white glaze, with a narrow neck and a geodesic-shaped body. It measures approximately 9 inches in diameter and 15.5 inches high.
