About the Item

1940s, Sweden. Handled Vase by Wilhelm Kåge from his Argenta collection of stoneware produced for the Gustavsberg Factory. Speckled turquoise glaze with silver leaf arrow along the vase body and rim. Signed by maker on underside. The well-known Argenta stoneware series features a green glaze and silver detailing. It is a standout design by Wilhelm Kåge. Created in the late 1920s, it was initially showcased at the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition and subsequently manufactured by Gustavsberg, where Kåge was the artistic director throughout the 1930s and 40s.
