Vintage Italian Midcentury Fluid Murano Vase in Green and Yellow Sommerso Glass
About the Item
Stunning vintage glass vase dating to the Mid-Century Modern era and made in Murano, Italy with the "Sommerso" technique, where colored glass (in this case in a vibrant green-yellowish hue) is "submerged" into a crystal clear outer layer. The vase has a "Rostrato" shape, typical of celebrated glassmaker Archimede Seguso, of which an example is visible in our inventory.
The piece is extremely well preserved, and with its fluid shape and bright color is a sculpture in its own right. It can nevertheless be used as an actual vase, with flowers inside. There are no signs of damage - meaning absolutely no cracks, dents or chipping, and the only visible signs of time are some minor scratches and an overall patina.
