“The White Hole” white stoneware vase hand made in Ibiza by Laura de Grinyo

Laura de Grinyo is the artisan behind Ladio Ceramics, founded in 2020. Laura was raised in Ibiza which is where her studio is located surrounded by pine trees and Mediterranean plants typical of the island. Her work stems from the origins of Ibiza's pottery tradition twisted with contemporary & organic aesthetics. She has been published in Financial Times’ How to Spend it HTSI, AD Spain, Elle Italy, El Pais Semanal, Vanity Fair, Vogue Living, Manera Magazine, Hola Living and L’Officiel to name a few. Laura de Grinyo's works have been exhibited at the Loewe pop-up at Harrods London, at Milan Design Week, Paris Design Week and various group exhibitions in Madrid and Ibiza. Laura has learned her craft from the master Adrián Ribas in his Sa Teulera studio (Ibiza) founded in 1945 by Juan Planells - ”Daifa” - one of the most popular representatives of the island's pottery culture. During the time she spent with him, Laura was able to inherit the different steps of this incredible millenary art. She discovered the four elements - earth, water, air and fire - by creating pieces that allowed her to deepen the knowledge of the elements and her own capabilities. "In ceramics you are constantly working on patience, acceptance of failure, metamorphosis and trusting the process. Something that seems as simple as clay, can go beyond physical, transcending its earthly value to remind us of where we come from".
